Description:
Hirsch Electronics has an opening for a software engineer to integrate software products from various manufacturers and markets, lead client agencies during their C&A (FISMA) process of Hirsch products, and assist with HSPD-12 implementations (FIPS 201 compliance process for physical and logical access).
Conduct presentations to government and industry audiences.
The software engineer must work relatively independently taking a conceptual idea to a deliverable solution. The candidate must possess solid oral and written communication skills to converse with client agencies to define requirements and provide project documentation.
Specific duties include:
Assisting/ leading FISMA compliance procedures during agency-specific C&A process
Assist/ lead integration of agency specific software products to achieve agency-specific system functionality
Provide documentation and post installation support
Additional duties as required by the Government Program Director
The applications vary in functionality and complexity. This position provides the candidate the opportunity to be creative and exercise all aspects of their software engineering skills.

The primary responsibility is to provide installation / maintenance
assistance and ensure availability of Access Control applications
by providing support services for the Dealer / End-user infrastructure.
Provide diagnoses for systems problems. Work with customer
personnel (by telephone and/or on-site) to achieve timely
solution of system / network problems. Test and verify new
configurations, work with customer’s personnel to correct
problems. Participate in the After Hours Emergency Phone Support
program. Be available to travel to remote job sites.
