Velocity Versions

Velocity version 3.0 is most recent release of Hirsch's flagship security management system.  Click on the following links to review the What’s New or Velocity Release Notes pages. Customers are encouraged to keep their Velocity software up to date as new versions are released. Customers with non-typical installations (redundant servers, API implementations, etc.) should check with Hirsch Professional Services for possible specialized upgrade procedures before installing new versions. For new installs: Please order part number VEL. The main CD in that package will install Velocity version 3.0 (build 3.0.0.31). To get up-to-date from Velocity 2.6 Service Pack 2 (build 2.6.1.27):  Order and install part number VEL-UPD30.  This CD will sense the existence of version 2.6 SP2 and allow you to upgrade to 3.0.  To get up-to-date from Velocity 2.6 Service Pack 1 (build 2.6.1.15): Order part numbers VEL and VEL-UPD26sp2.  Install VEL-UPD26sp2 (2.6.1.27) (to upgrade from 2.6 sp1 to 2.6 sp2) and then VEL (to upgrade from 2.6 sp2 to 3.0). To get up-to-date from Velocity 2.6 (build 2.6.0.18):  Order part numbers VEL and VEL-UPD26SP1-2.  Install VEL-UPD26sp1 (to upgrade from 2.6 to 2.6 sp1), then VEL-UPD26sp2 (to upgrade from 2.6 sp1 to 2.6 sp2) then VEL (to upgrade from 2.6 sp2 to 3.0). To get up-to-date from Velocity 2.5 sp1a (build 2.5.0.37): Order part numbers VEL, VEL-UPD26 and VEL-UPD26SP1-2.  Install VEL-UPD26 (to upgrade from 2.5 sp1a to 2.6), then VEL-UPD26sp1 (to upgrade from 2.6 to 2.6 sp1), then VEL-UPD26sp2 (to upgrade from 2.6 sp1 to 2.6 sp2), then VEL (to upgrade from 2.6 sp2 to 3.0). To get up-to-date from Velocity version 2.0b (build 1.0.9.60): Order part numbers VEL, VEL-UPD25, VEL-UPD26, VEL-UPD26sp1 and VEL-UPD26sp2. The CD in part number VEL-UPD25 includes the files to upgrade from 2.0b to 2.5 (2.5.0.28), and from 2.5 to 2.5 sp1a (2.5.0.37). Then use part number VEL-UPD26 (to upgrade from 2.5 sp1a to 2.6), then VEL-UPD26sp1 (to upgrade from 2.6 to 2.6 sp1), then VEL-UPD26sp2 (to upgrade from 2.6 sp1 to 2.6 sp2), then VEL (to upgrade from 2.6 sp2 to 3.0). To get up-to-date from earlier versions of Velocity 1.0 or from non-Velocity software, please contact your Hirsch representative.
